Creating Impact For Your Work
The research you’re working on today may help to shape the world of tomorrow. To give it the best chance to make an impact, CSIRO Publishing is working hard to ensure our journals have international reach and discoverability, and are indexed in relevant databases.
In addition, there are several ways you can create impact for your work – starting with the preparation of your paper before you submit it. Navigate between the three different stages of creating impact below.
Before publishing, there are steps you can take to generate as much impact as possible, including search engine optimisation, selecting eye-catching images and writing layperson explanations of your research.
Once your paper has been published, there are several ways in which you can share your work and engage with the research community, the media and the public about your research.
After your paper has been published, you can use a variety of tools to measure the impact of your work, including the Cited By tool, Altmetrics, Dimensions and our ‘Most Read Papers’ list.
