Linda Cook is an Executive Director on the board of Royal Dutch Shell plc. Her main executive responsibility is for Shell’s global Gas & Power business including liquefied natural gas, major natural gas transport activities as well as gas to liquids and clean coal technology, solar and wind power. Other responsibilities include Shell Trading, Shell Global Solutions and Technology, in addition to regional oversight for Shell’s activities in East Asia and Australasia. Linda was born in the Kansas City area (United States) in 1958, and joined Shell in 1980 after graduating with a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas. She has worked for Shell companies in the United States, the Netherlands, the UK and Canada. Before becoming a Director for Royal Dutch in 2004, Linda was Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Shell Canada Limited since August 2003. Prior to that she had been Chief Executive Officer of Shell Gas and Power since 2000, based in London. She is member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the China Development Forum. She has served as a Director of The Boeing Company since 2003. She is married and has three children. Linda delivered this speech to this 2008 APPEA Conference in Perth on Monday, 7 April.
