Abstract

No abstract was provided for this presentation.

Garry Walker leads a small project team split into an offshore delivery group building the gas processing plant and onshore pipelines, and an onshore delivery group building the subsea gathering systems and subsea pipeline and control umbilical to shore. Macedon is a small gas resource 40 km north of Exmouth in Western Australia (WA). Discovered in 1992, Macedon has been a stranded resource due to historically low gas prices in WA, the size of the resource and remoteness. Increased gas demand and a decline of existing resources have created a development window for Macedon, ahead of domestic gas reservations from present LNG projects. Total project cost is US$1.5 billion, BHP Billiton has 71% share with Apache as partner. First gas is scheduled for the second quarter CY2013.

Garry trained in chemical/process engineering and has 30 years in the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry. He has 22 years with BHP Billiton Petroleum, working in operations management, operations engineering, drilling and development projects. He has worked in the UK, US, Australia and Trinidad and Tobago, involved mainly with operated projects, but also covering non-operated projects, such as North West Shelf and Bass Strait.
