This review focuses on three aspects of the interactions between UV-B and anthocyanin in plants: (1) the light signal transduction pathway of UV-B and its regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis; (2) the effects of UV-B and other abiotic factors on anthocyanin synthesis; and (3) the protection of anthocyanins against UV-B radiation damage. This laid a foundation for people to use UV-B to interfere with plant production of more anthocyanins.

CuO nanoparticles (CuO NPs) have a cytotoxic, genotoxic and mechanical effect on the microalgae and affect almost all the aspects of cell functioning. CuO NPs inhibit the growth and photosynthesis of algae, damage cell membranes, induce deformation of nuclei, oxidative stress and depolarisation of the mitochondrial membrane. Our results indicate the potential danger of CuO NPs for the primary production link of aquatic ecosystems with an uncontrolled increase in their content in water.

An excessive amount of copper (Cu) reduces plant growth and biomass, lowering agricultural production and productivity. An organic soil may be found that improves seed germination in addition to plant growth and development. The growth, biomass, seed germination, photosynthesis pigments and plant exchange indices of Corchorus capsularis were all increased by organic soil. It is possible to increase C. capsularis biomass and growth by using organic soil in the field.

This study explored the role of Arabidopsis thaliana plasma membrane intrinsic protein (AtPIP2;1) in seed germination. Seed from plants varying in their relative abundance of AtPIP2;1 differed in the timing of germination in saline conditions relative to seed from wild-type plants. Wild-type seed germinated faster in saline conditions than the seed which had lost AtPIP2;1 function and the seed with a greater abundance of AtPIP2;1.

GmPHT4;10 gene is a member of PHT4 subfamily of soybean (Glycine max) phosphate transporter gene family. GmPHT4;10 gene expression was induced by drought and low phosphorus stress. GmPHT4;10 gene has the physiological function of regulating chloroplast phosphorus content and improving plant drought resistance, but there are differences between GmPHT4;10 gene and its orthologous gene AtPHT4;5 in drought resistance mechanism.

Effluents from the dyeing industry discharged into aquatic habitats damage the ecosystem. Malachite green alters biochemical and physiological activities in Eichhornia crassipes. Chlorophyll a fluorescence emission analysis revealed that the donor of PSII was damaged. It disturbs the overall photosynthetic efficiency of plants.
