In October 2011, David Byers was appointed Chief Executive of APPEA, the peak national body representing Australia’s oil and gas exploration and production industry. David has spent most of his career in the oil and gas industry—initially with Woodside and subsequently in senior management roles in Mobil and ExxonMobil in Australia, Singapore and the United States. In 2007, he was appointed Chief Executive of CEDA (Committee for Economic Development of Australia), a leading national economic research and policy forum. David has degrees in economics and law. David is a member of the Board of Open Family Australia, a not for profit organization that provides services and outreach support to homeless and at-risk young Australians. |
