Project Updates—Wheatstone Project

Brian Smith is General Manager of Operations for Chevron Australia. He is responsible for overseeing all activities relating to marine, drilling, supply chain management, Barrow and Thevenard islands, major capital project operations and information systems.

Before taking on this role, he was General Manager of the Wheatstone Project.

He was born in Manchester, England. He graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1975 with a BSc (chemical engineering) (first-class honours).

He joined Chevron in 1981 and has worked in a variety of assignments in the UK, Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, Kazakhstan and Chevron’s Corporate Offices located in San Ramon, California.

Other positions he has held with Chevron include Production Manager for Tengizchevroil in Kazakhstan, General Manager of Major Capital Projects for Chevron’s Deepwater Projects in the Gulf of Mexico and General Manager Asset Development in the European Business Unit.

Brian is a chartered engineer.
