Reactions of [M(en)2]2+ and [M(3,7-diaza-nonane-1,9-diamine)]2+, M = Cu2+, Ni2+, with nitroethane and formaldehyde in basic solution to form (nitro, methyl)-substituted cyclic tetraamine cations, and reduction of the nitro-group(s) to form (amine, methyl)-substituted cyclic tetraamine cations are reviewed. This Review covers the preparations and properties of compounds of amine‐substituted cyclic amines formed via nitroalkane‐aldehyde condensations of metal‐ion amine compounds, and such compounds with the amine substituents chemically modified.
A chitosan-graft-polyethyleneimine copolymer (CS-g-PEI) was prepared by an N,N′-carbonyl diimidazole (CDI) coupling method as a drug carrier for PolyI:C and simulated antigen ovalbumin (OVA). Nanoparticles of CS-g-PEI-PolyI:C/OVA with good solution stability, coating effect, immune characteristics and suitable size were prepared through electrostatic self-assembly. CS-g-PEI protected PolyI:C from nuclease degradation and is a reliable drug carrier for the delivery of PolyI:C.
Oil-in-water-in-oil (O/W/O) double Pickering emulsions were prepared using purified and modified attapulgite (ATP) and modified nano-Fe3O4 as stable particles and then used as templates to form ATP/P(MMA-BMA-St)/Fe3O4 composite porous resins. The experiment provides a simple, economic and environmentally friendly method for the preparation of inorganic–organic composite porous materials, which are expected to have great application potential in the field of oil treatment.
A highlight of the development and patent synthesis of nirmatrelvir – the main component of the first oral drug against SARS-CoV-2 Paxlovid® is presented.
