Abstract
The numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus ) was formerly widespread across most of southern Western Australia, South Australia and western New South Wales. It delined in the early 1900's, possibly due to foxes, cats, or an epizootic. Protection through control of foxes and cats, and translocation, has resulted in several populations being re-established at sites of historical distribution.https://doi.org/10.1071/AM06012
