Abstract
The Wet Tropics World Heritage Area (WHA) is located in the coastal lowlands and adjacent mountains and tablelands of northeastern Queensland, encompassing an area of nearly 900 000 ha. The WHA was formally listed as a World Heritage site in 1988 following a rancorous public debate that culminated in a permanent halt of selective logging operations within the WHA.https://doi.org/10.1071/PC930003
