Abstract
Bat specimens known from Lord Howe Island are discussed. Eptesicus pumilus was formerly a resident species but is now believed extinct. Published reports of Scotophilus morio are thought to refer to Eptesicus pumilus. A fossil bat skull found in a cave is described as a new species, Nyctophilus howensis. It may have occurred in modern times.https://doi.org/10.1071/AM75003
