Abstract
The Van Gogh Field Development is located offshore Western Australia in a water depth of 345 m and is being developed with the subsea infrastructure tied back to an FPSO, with a shuttle tanker for export.
The development scheme comprises two drill centres with manifolded production wells connected by flexible flowlines and risers to a dis-connectable buoy and turret mooring. The FPSO connects to this.

Enda O’Sullivan is operations director with MCS Perth and is a chartered engineer with over sixteen years experience in offshore engineering. Enda has come through the system at MCS. He was recruited as a graduate to work in the software department, then moved on to project work in Aberdeen and rose to the role of general manager. Enda relocated to Houston as vice president for business development and then onwards to Perth to manage the office. His technical expertise primarily covers design and integrity management of risers and he actively consults on projects, mostly for southeast Asian floating and subsea projects. Enda is also active in industry presenting and chairing at sessions for offshore-related conferences. He has recently presented papers at Offshore Asia (OA), Deep Offshore Technology (DOT), Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) and OMAE. Simon Bingham is the offshore development manager with Apache Energy Perth and a chartered engineer with thirty years experience in offshore engineering. Simon started his career in the North Sea before emigrating to Perth 20 years ago. He started as a structural engineer with Global Engineering before moving to Pipelines with JP Kenny. Since joining Apache in the early nineties, Simon has carried out many roles both in projects and operations in Perth and has also worked on projects in Poland and Egypt. He has extensive experience of all aspects of offshore projects from concept, design, construction and installation through to operation. This includes management of subsea, pipelines, platforms and FPSO. While in operations, Simon was responsible for developing and maintaining an asset integrity management system for all Apache’s offshore facilities. Simon is also part time active (time permitting) in industry presenting and chairing at sessions for offshore-related conferences.
