Petter HØie has a background in the offshore contracting business. He has a Masters Degree in Business and Economics (SivilØkonom), Norwegian School of Management. He started his career in business development for Norwegian shipowner Fred Olsen in 1996. His focus was on floating production, FPSOs, and in 1998 he co-founded Scantank Offshore AS, which was bought by Bergesen d.y. ASA, one of the world’s largest shipowning companies. The company was later renamed Bergesen Offshore. He remained as Commercial Director and was responsible for negotiating all major FPSO charter contracts. Bergesen Offshore is today a significant FPSO contractor listed on the Oslo Stock exchange. In 2005 Mr Hoie joined tanker owner Frontline, the world’s largest transporter of crude oil, to develop an FPSO business unit.

Dr Chris Back is group managing executive of Equinox Energy. He has been a business owner and company director for 22 years with active involvement in corporate leadership, marketing, business management and public relations in that period. His business interests during a 35-year career have encompassed fuel industry retailing, sales and marketing and risk and emergency management in southeast Asia, the United States of America, the Middle East, India and Australia. Dr Back was previously chief executive officer of an Australian owned company providing high level electronic solutions to the oil majors in downstream auditing, inventory control and marketing. Prior to that he owned the fuel retailing, marketing and distribution business for the Shell Company of Australia in Tasmania. He has been a member of Emergency Services Australia, the National Fire Authorities Council and the State Emergency Management Advisory Board to Government. Dr Back has been a member of the Faculties of the University of California, Davis USA and the Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia.

Michael Johnson was born in the UK and has worked throughout the world including UK and Norwegian North Sea, Middle East, north and west Africa and Asia-Pacific. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with 30 years experience in the offshore oil and gas and petrochemical industries. He has a broad base of technical and commercial skills including corporate management, project management, engineering, conceptual and detailed design, construction, installation and commissioning. His experience provides a good balance of technical, commercial and managerial knowledge and responsibility. Michael has worked with both major oil and gas operators and offshore construction contractors. His technical experience includes marine operations, offshore structures, FPSOs and subsea production systems. Michael was the senior founder of PDC and is Managing Director of Equinox Engineering and Installation Services. His commercial experience includes a working knowledge of maritime law, corporate and international taxation, financial planning and general administration of international organisations. Michael’s forte is in creating and optimising radical field abandonment and redevelopment solutions. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Western Australia, and has a Masters Degree in Offshore Engineering.
