Nonlinear Adiabatic Pulsations of Massive Stars

Abstract
The pulsational properties of a sequence of massive stars have been investi· gated in this paper. The second· order approximation to the equation of motion governing the adiabatic radial oscillations of these stars has been determined allowing for the variation of the radiation pressure throughout the star. In each case the form of the radial velocity curve at the surface of the star has been established taking into account the influence of higher modes of oscillation.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH680465
