Abstract
Land abandonment is increasing as human impacts on the globe intensify and various ecological, social, and economic factors conspire to halt agricultural processes and other forms of land management. The ?old fields? that result from abandonment have been studied extensively, yet few attempts have been made to investigate the new concepts for describing the dynamics of old fields. This volume presents a sound conceptual framework, with discussion of the socio-economic causes of land abandonment, skillfully linked with case studies from around the globe.https://doi.org/10.1071/PC090253
