Effect of Pinnotheres hickmani on Neutral Red Clearance by Mytilus edulis

Abstract

The effect of P. hickmani on the pumping rate of M. edulis was investigated. The crab significantly reduces the pumping rate at the 90% probability level.

Pumping rates obtained are consistent with those reported in the literature where neutral red was used as the medium to be cleared.
