The systematics of the ‘sapphire azure’ butterfly (Ogyris aenone) species complex is revised through an integrative taxonomic approach. Phylogenetic analysis resolved five species within this group, with one species, Ogyris caelestia Beaver & Braby, sp. nov., here described as new and another, Ogyris doddi, stat. rev., raised to full species. The complete life histories, biology and ecology of all members of this species-group are illustrated and diagnosed, and confusing aspects of the literature are clarified. Several species are of conservation significance, including the new species.
