Lower income countries

CSIRO Publishing is committed to advancing universal access to research and opportunities to publish. One of the initiatives that supports this aim is our partnership with Research4Life [external link]. This collaboration ensures that all content published in the CSIRO Publishing family of journals is made available online to readers in lower income counties. It also facilitates APC-waivers for authors from eligible regions in most journals.

Research4Life provides institutions in lower income countries with online access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content. They aim to improve teaching, research and policy-making in health, agriculture, the environment and other life, physical and social sciences.

Access to content is enabled through the Research4Life website, and you can check your country’s eligibility on the Research4Life access page [external link].  Corresponding authors that are in both the Research4Life Group A and B eligible countries do not need to pay for Author Processing Charges to have their accepted papers published as Open Access in the following journals:

Through this partnership, CSIRO Publishing aims to support global research efforts and contribute to a more equitable distribution of knowledge, ultimately enhancing the impact of research worldwide. Authors worldwide can submit to our Diamond Open Access journals, and accepted articles do not require payments for Open Access. These journals are also freely available to read without payment or authenticated access.
