Abstract

The genus Storena (Walckenaer) is revised. The genus now contains 27 species, 23 of which are new: S. procedens (male), S. digitulus (male), S. ignava (male), S. paucipunctata (male), S. raveni (male), S. mathematica (male), S. recta (male, female), S. cochleare (male), S. sinuosa (male, female), S. aspinosa (male) , S. martini (male), S. fungina (male, female), S. scita (male), S. metallica (male, female), S. rotunda (male), S. botenella (female), S. parvicavum (female), S. longiducta (female), S. nana (female), S. charlotte (female), S. nuga (female), S. recurvata (female) and S. daviesae (female). Four species are redescribed: the type species, S. cyanea Walckenaer (male, female), S. formosa Thorell (male, female), S. colossea Rainbow (male, female) and S. deserticola Jocqué (male). A key to the males is provided. The large range of male palpal conformations contrasting with the somatic stability in the genus is discussed.
