Revision of the genus Collettea Lang (Crustacea : Tanaidacea)

Abstract

The genus Collettea Lang, 1973 (previously Strongylura Sars, 1882) is revised. Two new species, C. humbolti, sp. nov. from Antarctica and C. cylindratoides, sp. nov. from the southeast Australian slope and Antarctica, are described. C. minima (Hansen, 1913) is redescribed and additions are included to the description of C. arnaudi (Shiino, 1978). A key to the genus is provided. The systematic position of Collettea with respect to the subfamilies of Anarthruridae is discussed.
