Expanding new horizons in deepwater through new technology

Dalton Boutte was elected executive vice president of Schlumberger Limited in January 2004. He also continues to serve as president of the WesternGeco business segment, a position he has held since February 2003. Before assuming his current role, he held a variety of positions in Schlumberger Oilfield Services, most recently serving as vice president of operations for Schlumberger Oilfield Services. During his 28 years with the company, Boutte has served as president of the Europe, Africa and CIS area and Gulf Coast Geomarket manager, based in New Orleans, Louisiana. He also held several management positions throughout North America and in Trinidad, Caracas, Buenos Aires and Paris. He began his career with Schlumberger in 1980, as a wireline engineer in Houma, Louisiana. Boutte has a BSc degree in Engineering from the University of New Orleans in Louisiana and was a visiting fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
