Abstract
Presented on Wednesday 22 May: Session 20
The marine nature of both oil and gas decommissioning and offshore wind development creates clear opportunities for efficiencies between the two sectors. As explored by this paper, decommissioning will benefit from upgrades to port facilities for offshore wind, offshore wind will benefit from access to vessels servicing decommissioning activities over long periods of time, and both industries can collaborate to establish long-term career paths for local communities.
