Madeleine King is the Federal Shadow Minister for Resources and Trade and Western Australia’s most senior Federal Labor Member of Parliament. She was elected to the seat of Brand in 2016, before being promoted to the front bench in 2019. Prior to entering Parliament, Ms King was the founding executive and Chief Operating Officer of the Perth USAsia Centre. In her leadership of the Perth USAsia Centre, she helped to bring a unique Western Australian perspective to international discussion on Australia’s role in the emerging Indo–Pacific region. Ms King has a long connection to Australia’s oil and gas industry – her father worked at the BP Kwinana Refinery for 30 years. |
