Abstract

One-dimensional spectral analysis has been applied to two long aeromagnetic profiles over Deccan Flood Basalts of India, one from Goa to Parbhani and the other from Hyderabad to Surat, to determine the thickness of the basaltic layer. The estimated thickness along the Goa?Parbhani profile varies from 220 to 1155 m and that along the Hyderabad?Surat profile from 200 to 800 m. The Goa?Parbhani profile indicates three subsurface faults at a distance of 98, 183 and 310 km from Goa.
