Abstract

Estimates of the Earth's palaeoradius as a fraction of its present radius using palaeomagnetic data for both continen tal blocks and larger blocks once joined, indicate no systematic change of radius with time since the Devonian. Any expansion is limited to less than 0.8 percent in 400 million years, that is, to a maximum possible expansion rate of 0.13 mm per year.
