Abstract
The trends of over 1500 aeromagnetic anomalies from three large areas in Australia were plotted on rosette diagrams. The areas included two different tectonic provinces in W.A.: the Archaean Yilgarn block and the Proterozoic block. These areas gave distinctive trends which correlated with the known geology and structure. The results indicated that trend analysis should be especially useful in studies of Precambrian areas particularly those where outcrop is poor. Aeromagnetic trend analysis should also be a useful procedure in the study and comparison of tectonic provinces thought to have drifted apart.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG976096
