Abstract
Civil engineers have traditionally been involved with the mechanics of rock behaviour in foundations of dams, buildings and bridges; in slopes of cuts for highways, railways and canals; and rock tunnels for power supply or vehicular use. Under these conditions long-term stability must be achieved and little or no failure can be tolerated.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG9760103
