Abstract
Temperature measurements, at shallow depths, may be of use in locating water-bearing features or conductive ores. Experimental work shows that it is necessary to consider variations in soil moisture, composition and thickness as well as make allowance for daily and seasonal effects. Selection of working depth should be based on local temperature profiles to depths of at least 2.5 m.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG973221
