Abstract
The extraction of cobalt(II) from 4M and 7M HCl involves the protonated form of the tetrachloro-cobaltate(II) ion, HCoCl4-. The equilibrium constants for the formation of the extracted complex, R3MeN+ HCoCl4-, are: log K11 7.07 and 8.48 for 4M and 7M HCl respectively.
