β-Methylation shifts from the ¹³C N.M.R. spectrum of 1,4-O,O-Dimethyl-chiro-inositol

Abstract

The carbon resonances of 1,4-0,O-dimethyl-chiro-inositol are assigned and the β-methylation shifts ascertained. The relationship between chemical shift and the stereochemistry of the methoxyl carbons is also examined.
