Abstract
s-Butyl β-D-glucopyranoside has been identified as a major component in the aqueous secretion collected from the dorsal surface of the abdomen of the tettigoniid, Acripeza reticulata Guer. The compound has a bitter taste and may fulfil a defensive role in the insect.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9752737
