Abstract
Voaluteine is shown to be the ψ-spiro-indoxyl related to voacangine and is thus probably an artefact. Its formation from voacangine by oxidation reactions has been investigated. Experiments on the formation of β-hydroxyindolenines from indoles via their Grignard derivatives and oxygen are described.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9651279
