Abstract
Examination of the infra-red spectra of thirty 2- or 4-quinolones shows that discrimination between them on the basis of the frequency of the carbonyl absorption band is not reliable. Certain quinolinyl ethers and quinolinium salts also show absorption in the same region of the spectrum as the quinolones. The spectra of several acridine derivatives have been measured for comparison with those of the quinolones.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9590589
