Scope

The Australian Journal of Botany isan international journal for the publication of original research in the field of botanical science. The journal publishes on the broad subjects of botany, plant ecology and biological interactions, at organisational levels from molecular to plant communities and whole ecosystems. We encourage submissions that focus on the following areas of plant biology and the processes that impact plants, including: 

  • Biodiversity
  • Conservation
  • Ecology
  • Evolution
  • Reproduction
  • Ethnobotany
  • Genetics
  • Physiology
  • Invasive species
  • Fire ecology
  • Threatened species
  • Climate change impacts

Papers of broad interest to Southern Hemisphere ecosystems are especially welcomed. Review articles will be considered, as will Methods papers that provide presentation of new analytical techniques, new databases, new code packages or critical evaluation of methods in plant biology.
