The Onset and Duration of Diapause in Eggs of Acheta Commodus (Walk.) (Orthoptera)

Abstract

The stage of morphogenesis at which diapause supervenes in eggs of the com· mon field cricket A. commodu8 was critically determined, and found to be the 46·hr stage in terms of the series described by Brookes (1952). The examination revealed a difference in morphology between diapause and non·diapause embryos.
