Abstract
Nitrogen analysis of cattle faeces collected after various periods of exposure to the sun and air in the field showed a decrease in nitrogen content followed by an increase. The relationship between the change in nitrogen content and time of exposure was found to be quadratic with a correlation coefficient of 0.41 3. The collection of faeces from the paddock for analysis is much less precise than collection direct from the animal and is not recommended.https://doi.org/10.1071/EA9760808
