Abstract
Several, not fully mobile, ,juvenile Planigale maculata, a small terrestrial marsupial, were observed calling from exposed positions near to where they had emerged from their nests. This is the first record of an audible vocalization of the planigale. An oscillogram of their call is presented. At the same time several tawny frogmouth (Podargus stringoides) were calling from surrounding trees. Many P. stringoides were observed picking off the P. maculata from the tree trunks throughout the night.https://doi.org/10.1071/AM08012
