Abstract
Electron-phonon coupling has been proposed by a number of researchers as the probable mechanism involved in martensitic transformations of many metals and alloys. This paper provides a plausible account of the way in which Kohn anomalies may give rise to tweed microstructure in pre-martensitic phases of fcc and bcc crystals.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH930689
