Abstract

A live specimen of Rhina ancylostomus was collected off Forster, New South Wales, Australia (32º10'S, 152º45'E), some 600 km farther south than the species has previously been recorded. The specimen has been maintained live at the Manly Oceanarium, where information has been gained on some basic behavioural attributes of this rare elasmobranch.
