Abstract

The siphonostomatoid family name Entomolepidae is emended to Entomolepididae, and a key to the family presented. The subfamily Parmulodinae Eiselt is redefined to accommodate the genus Paralepeopsyllus Ummerkutty. A single specimen of a copepodite 5-adult intermoult which is attributed to Entomolepis ovalis Brady, is described and illustrated, on the basis of which generic descriptions within the Entomolepididae are emended. Entomolepis hamondi sp. nov. from Bass Strait is added to the genus. Entornopsylhs gen. nov. is created to accommodate E. adriae (Eiselt) and E. nichollsi sp. nov. from Shark Bay, W.A.
