Abstract
This article presents a modern summary of the development of dynamical models of turbulent plumes for use in modelling a variety of natural phenomena in the atmosphere and ocean, and engineering applications. Bruce Morton played a pioneering role in this work, and this article is a tribute to his memory as a friend, scientist and colleague.https://doi.org/10.1071/ES14002
