Abstract

The Barrow-Dampier carbon capture and storage (CCS) regional study is an industry collaboration between Geoscience Australia, Chevron and SLB. A key objective of the study is a focussed reprocessing, depth imaging and merging of 26,150 km2 of input legacy seismic data. The regional merge is providing a robust foundational dataset for basin-scale CCS screening and play-risk mapping, allowing de-risking of capacity and containment of prospective storage locations.

Keywords: Barrow sub basin, carbon capture, carbon dioxide, CCS, Dampier sub basin, depth imaging, greenhouse gas, screening, seismic.
