Abstract

This extended abstract will provide oil and gas executives and their broader teams with an understanding of some of the broader tax challenges and opportunities facing their industry. Key topics to be discussed are:

  1. Practical issues arising out of the proposed extension of the PRRT system to onshore oil and gas.

  2. Henry Report—what else did he say (i.e. covering non-RSPT aspects)?

  3. Exploration/development cut-off for income tax and PRRT.

  4. Large scale oil and gas and LNG projects—getting the tax aspects right.

The issues will be delivered in a non-technical commercial format, and will be suitable for people from all junior explorers to the major producers. A major focus of the presentation will be in exploring how these and other tax topics can be used by oil and gas executives to bring value back to their companies.
