Abstract
This paper describes a method of topographic surveying which utilises Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, and a newly developed barometric instrument, the Rapid Elevation Meter (REM). Used together, these provide an exceptionally fast and accurate system of obtaining the topographic profiles for seismic recording, as well as providing highly accurate positions of the lines on the ground. The system is further enhanced by numerous software quality control checks and observing techniques to ensure data quality and integrity.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG992209
