Abstract
Twelve rootstocks were tested as stocks for sultana grape vines on light textured soils in the Mildura area. The trials started in 1966. In 1969, 1970, and 1971 Vitis champini Salt Creek was the highest yielding rootstock, and another V. champini variety, Dogridge, was second. Vines on the V. berlandieri hybrids R110 and 420A yielded less than own rooted sultanas in these trials.Grafts on the two V. champitzi stocks were more vigorous than other vines. Vegetative growth was greater on Dogridge than Salt Creek.
