Abstract
Retarded growth of wheat in galvanized wire netting cages at Sydney and Narrabri has been associated with toxic action of zinc derived from the wire netting. At Sydney the amount of zinc added to the top two feet of soil (139 g/sq. yd. over a 14-year period) was equivalent to that originally on the galvanized wire. It is shown that an industrial or urban atmosphere is not the sole agent for rapid solution of the zinc.https://doi.org/10.1071/EA9690041
