The effects of photoperiod and temperature on flowering in Glycine javanica

Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture and Animal Husbandry 8(34) 544 - 547
Published: 1968

Abstract

Flowering in Glycine javanica is affected by both photoperiod and temperature. All accessions studied were short day plants, and in the sensitive ones there was little effect of temperature. In others, a lowering of day and/or night temperatures caused flowering to occur in long (16 hr) days and may prevent flowering in short days. Seed formation did not occur in day temperatures above 27°C.
