The apparent digestibility of ewes milk and dried pasture by young lambs

Abstract

The apparent organic matter digestibility of ewes milk and dried pasture when both were fed together to young lambs was not affected by level of intake or age of the lambs. There was no difference in the apparent digestibility by the lambs of pasture organic matter, nitrogen, or crude fibre when milk was removed from the ration. The apparent digestibility of the pasture by adult wethers, when fed at the maintenance level, was higher than that by the lambs.
