Abstract
Spot applications of 45Ca, with or without additional non-radioactive calcium and/or magnesium were made at various sites upon the surface of apple fruits (variety Granny Smith). Sections of the fruits were subsequently radioautographed and radioassayed. It was found that penetrated the epidermis to the underlying tissue, particularly in the region of the stalk and calyx. The application of additional calcium, and to a lesser degree magnesium enhanced 45Ca penetration.https://doi.org/10.1071/EA9650479
