Vernalization and flowering in skeleton weed (Chondrilla juncea)

Abstract

Experiments are described which indicate that although vernalization accelerates floral initiation in skeleton weed it is not an obligate requirement. The vernalization effect seems to be at a maximum after six to eight weeks of exposure to cold. There are indications that a short juvenile phase of four to six weeks duration may be present.
