Skin and skinfold thickness in relation to depth of subcutaneous fat in beef cattle

Abstract

Skin and skinfold measurements were made on the midside of steers aged 26 months just before slaughter. These measurements were unrelated to the depth of subcutaneous fat measured on their carcasses on the cut surface between the tenth and eleventh ribs.
